About 15 children a year die as a result of playground equipment related incidents.  Most of these incidents are from falls to the ground off of the playground equipment, but some of them are the result of falls from one piece of playground equipment to another. 

We have researched and found a few videos to help you with Playground Safety and how to play safe on the playground.

The Community Against Preventable Injuries interviews Dr. Shelina Babul, Associate Director for the BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit on playground injuries. As a sports injury specialist, Dr. Babul is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Pediatrics at UBC and a board member for the Brain Injury Association of Canada

 

 


Miss Lorraine Wallis interviews an elementary student regarding the school’s playground safety rules. Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible. Student proves that he understands and appreciates proper playground behavior which is very important within the LAUSD schoolwide discipline policy. This card is owned by each student and kept as a reference when students need to be reminded of playground behavior expectations.
