What are the differences between residential and Commercial Swing Sets?
In general, swing sets for residential use are manufactured for light duty play in a home environment and provide no real strength to stand up to heavy traffic. These swing sets are intended for “Residential Use Only” and for children under the age of 13.
Commercial Swing Sets are manufactured to reduce maintaince and are made to withstand heavy use and hard play by many children. Commercial Swing Sets are manufactured for “Commercial Use”, tested and rated for commercial use, and meet and/or exceed ASTM and the CPSC Standards and Guidelines.
Commercial swing sets should be used in any application that will be used for commercial playground use such as commercial or state parks, recreation facilities, school playgrounds, play areas for churches, day care centers, community playgrounds, and any other application that will have use that exceeds normal residential / single family play.
